Two uncles were spotted fighting over a seat at Serangoon Public Library at around 2.45pm today (Dec 22). Stomper Ching Hui witnessed the dispute and alerted Stomp to it. According to him, one of the uncles placed his bag on a chair and left to grab a book. While he was away, another uncle clad in a white shirt removed the bag and occupied the seat. The middle-aged man then returned to find his seat occupied and confronted the man clad in the white shirt. “He pushed the guy sitting on the chair and the guy in the white shirt immediately called the police,” Ching Hui said in a phone interview with Stomp. The Stomper later said that he confronted the guy who was sitting in the chair as $10 was missing from his bag. He added that the librarian and the security guard tried their best to resolve the issue but both the uncles refused to give in. Ching Hui said the uncle sitting on the chair said that “there is no reservation in the library that says that you can place your bag and occupy a seat.” The Stomper added that he left the library before the issue could be resolved as he found the whole thing “very silly”. He said: “The police are still there trying to resolve the issue. They are fighting over a chair, if you leave the seat, it’s not yours anymore! “I just hope more Singaporeans are aware of this when they’re in public.” singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/this-urban-jungle/uncles-fight-over-seat-at-serangoon-public-library-one-even-calls-the-police-to#xtor=CS2-4
